First Impressions
The Smart Smoker e-cigarette comes in a plain cardboard box. It is all black with a simple white graphic of the Smart Smoker logo which includes a cute little smoke trail curling out of the letter O. It is pleasant enough to look at, but the frail cardboard does not make a very sturdy carrying case for all of the Smart Smoker accessories. I ended up storing them in a plastic, lidded container I got at the supermarket instead.
The Smart Smoker mini electronic cigarette starter kit is a good first choice if you’re new to this brand. It’s a little less expensive, so it’s a good way to sample the product before you invest a lot of money in it. The mini kit includes two batteries, seven cartomizers and a USB port charger. If you want more charging options, Smart Smoker offers, in some of its other kits, chargers that work with wall outlets as well as your car’s charging port.
For having a flimsy box yet offering us a great, cheap starter kit and multiple charging options, I’m going to bestow four points on Smart Smoker out of a possible five.
Battery/Output
The battery on the Smart Smoker only comes in one color: a very realistic cigarette-colored white. The cartomizers are, of course, orange. Depending on your mind set, that can be a plus or a minus. Some people like a cigarette to look like a cigarette while others think colors are just plain fun. The size of the battery is almost identical to a real tobacco cigarette. That’s a real plus for me because having the product feel like the real thing in my hand goes a long way toward tricking my brain into thinking it’s a real tobacco cigarette. The battery life was a little disappointing. It did not last as long as some of the other e-cigarette batteries I have tried.
As for vapor output, the Smart Smoker preformed admirably. It produced lots of satisfying vapor from the very first puff.
For great vapor but no fun color choices and a pretty wimpy battery, Smart Smoker gets a four out of five in the categories of battery quality and vapor output.
Flavor
Smart Smoker is one of those brands that has decided to walk the traditional path when it comes to flavors. The manufacturer offers only two choices: Tobacco and Menthol. On the plus side, cartomizers can be ordered in four nicotine strengths: high, medium, low and none. Unfortunately, there is no mention of how many milligrams each of these levels have. The flavors themselves, however, were well done and had a rich, realistic tobacco taste.
For good, strong flavors but few choices, Smart Smoker gets another four.
Overall
Overall, Smart Smoker worked well and delivered plenty of vapor and flavor. However there have been some billing mix-ups when people tried the company’s 10 day trial offer. If you sign up, be sure to read all the fine print and check your credit card statement carefully to be sure there are no mistakes.
All in all, Smart Smoker gets a four out of five from this reviewer.
